Frequently Asked Questions

Your Laundry, Your Way. Anywhere.

General Product Questions

  • How do I use a Swyrlz washer?

All our washers follow a simple 3-step process:

    1. FILL the basin with water, a small amount of detergent, and your clothes.

    2. WASH by turning the manual crank or pressing the power button for 3-10 minutes.

    3. DRAIN & SPIN using the integrated drain hose and high-speed spin basket to remove excess water. All you have to do is hang your clothes to dry.

  • How much detergent do I use?

Very little! Because our washers are so efficient, we recommend using only one teaspoon of liquid or powder detergent per load.

  • How "dry" do the 'Dash' and 'Basecamp' spinners get my clothes?

The high-RPM spin cycles in these models are powerful and wring clothes "damp-dry," not bone-dry like a high-heat tumbler. This process removes the vast majority of water, allowing your clothes to air-dry on a rack in a fraction of the time it would take from hand-wringing.

  • What can I fit in one load?

This depends on the model. The Wanderer and The Basecamp can comfortably hold a standard small load, such as 2 pairs of adult jeans, or 5-6 t-shirts plus underwear and socks. The Dash is an ultra-portable unit designed specifically for "smalls" - it's perfect for a set of gym clothes, several pairs of socks and underwear, or a couple of baby outfits.

Which Product is Right for Me?

  • What is the main difference between the three Swyrlz models?

It all comes down to your power source and needs:

The Wanderer is 100% manual. It needs no electricity, making it perfect for true off-grid use.

The Dash is battery-powered and recharges via USB-C. It's ultra-portable and designed for small, daily loads.

The Basecamp is AC-powered (plugs into a wall outlet). It's our collapsible "laundromat replacement" for at-home use.

  • I live in a dorm. Which washer is best for me?

We highly recommend The Dash. It's whisper-quiet, small enough to fit on a desk, and USB-powered, so you can wash your daily essentials (gym clothes, socks, underwear) right in your room to avoid the crowded, expensive dorm laundry room.

  • Will I get in trouble for having a Swyrlz washer in my dorm?

While all dorm rules are different, Swyrlz washers are often allowed where traditional machines are banned. The main issue for dorms is the risk of flooding from machines that hook up to plumbing. None of our products do this. The Wanderer uses no electricity, and The Dash is a small, low-power device. We recommend placing your washer in a shower or tub for easy, no-mess draining.

  • I live in a tiny home / RV. Which one should I get?

It depends on your power situation. If you are 100% off-grid ("boondocking"), The Wanderer is your best solution, as it uses zero electricity and is built for the rugged lifestyle.142 If you have access to AC power (shore power, a generator, or a large solar inverter), The Basecamp is the perfect choice. It gives you the power of a full-size washer but collapses to be stored in a cabinet, saving precious space.

  • Is 'The Wanderer' hard to use?

Not at all! It was designed with an efficient gear ratio that makes the crank smooth and easy to turn. It is significantly faster and easier than the back-breaking work of hand-washing clothes in a bucket or sink.

Our Mission & Impact

  • What is the "Global Washing Divide"?

This is the critical, invisible issue affecting 5 billion people - mostly women and girls - who wash clothes by hand. This task can take up to 20 hours every week, creating a massive barrier to education, earning an income, and improving quality of life.

  • What does "Wash Your Load. Lighten Theirs." mean?

This is our dual mission. When you buy a Swyrlz product to make your own life more convenient, you are directly supporting our impact work. We partner with non-profit organizations to get our 100% manual 'Wanderer' washers to communities in need, helping to give back the resource of time.

  • What does it mean to be a "Certified B Corporation"?

B Corp is a rigorous, third-party certification that verifies Swyrlz meets the highest possible standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. It's not just a label; it's a legal commitment to use our business as a force for good and Swyrlz has applied for this designation.
